Elements of gothic literature
Gothic literature arose in the last 18th to early 19th century, mainly in England. Soon in the US as well. It tells stories that are mystic, suspense, and supernatural. Among its horror and terror elements, it’s still romantic because of its Romanticism roots. Gothic is an architectural term. It indicates the pointed arch which you can see on Churches and Castles. Gothic architecture was widespread in Western Europe between the 12th and 16th centuries.
